The Royal Commission into National Natural Disaster Arrangements has been released

The "Bushfire Royal Commission" as it is known was tabled in Parliament on October 30, 2020. It found that Climate Change contributed to the "Black Summer" 2019/2020 wildfires.

ELCA the Emergency Leaders for Climate Action is tracking key recommendations from the report.

ELCA states that the Commission's 80 recommendations are sensible and align with ELCA's "Australian Bushfire & Climate Action Plan".

While the Royal Commission's report does NOT recommend specific actions for climate mitigation, its recommendations can be implemented alongside ELCA's recommendations effectively.
