Government recognition of Aboriginal deaths in custody

Government recognition of Aboriginal deaths in custody
The Issue
We the undersigned demand that the Australian Federal and State Governments respond immediately to the 'Deaths Inside: Indigenous Deaths in Custody' database published in 'The Guardian', 28th August, 2018. We demand that Federal and State Governments condemn, in the strongest possible way, the systems (and their people) that allow and perpetrate this heinous racism and inhumanity. We demand that all Australian States and Territories take action to eradicate all forms of violence and discrimination against the Aboriginal peoples of Australia. We note 'more than 400 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have died in custody since the end of the royal commission into Aboriginal deaths in custody in 1991' ('The Guardian' 28/08/2018) and remind all Australian Governments, Federal and State, of their commitment to addressing this issue with the release of the Royal Commission findings of 1991.
