Friends, today is Tharnicaa’s fourth birthday.

It breaks my heart that our precious Tharni and her mum Priya will spend her big day separated from her beloved Dad and big sister, 5,000km from their Biloela home.

But I have a plan to make Tharni’s birthday special that I would love you to be part of.

It is still so shocking to me that Tharni has spent every single one of her four birthdays detained by politicians who have the power to bring her family home to Biloela with the stroke of a pen.

Even today, as she recovers from serious illness in a Perth hospital, guards are stationed in the corridor outside her hospital room.

No child should spend a single day in detention, let alone four birthdays. But today, we are going to make Tharni’s big day as special as we can. Here’s the plan.
