When Priya, Nades and the girls were forced onto a Skytraders charter plane last night, lawyers secured a temporary injunction to keep them in Australia. They were taken off the plane in Darwin but the injunction runs out at 12pm today (Friday). MELBOURNE FRIENDS: please go to Flagstaff Gardens, cnr William & Latrobe Sts at 9.30am today to show support before the 10am court hearing.
SYDNEY FRIENDS: Please join local constituents holding a peaceful vigil at Immigration Minister David Coleman's office at 22 Revesby Place, Revesby at 10am today.
EVERYONE ELSE - PLEASE:
- Make a polite phone call to Prime Minister Morrison’s office on 02 6277 7700 (or 02 9523 0339 if you can’t get through). Tell his staff you are asking Mr Morrison to look into his heart and do something to stop this appalling action by his Ministers. Click here for some points to guide your call.
- Contact charter airline Skytraders’ Melbourne Operations office on 03 9335 5522 and politely ask their staff to look into their hearts and refuse to fly Priya, Nades and the girls from Australia to danger. If you can't get through, please click here to send a polite message via their contact form.
Please check facebook or twitter throughout the day for updates and further action you can take.
I have one last, very important thing to ask of you today.
If - like me - you are upset and outraged that our government is ignoring the people of Biloela and the people of Australia, please take a deep breath and make sure that your phone call or vigil presence is calm and respectful towards everyone you speak to or meet.
It is time to act - but I am determined not to let the disgraceful behaviour of our politicians provoke words or actions that could be used to turn the Australian public against Priya and Nades.
To everyone who is standing with Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa at this critical time - thank you. The next few hours are critical and while Priya and Nades and their QLD-born girls remain in Australia, there is still hope.
With love and hope,
Angela
