Angela FredericksBILOELA, Australia

It’s exactly one year since Priya, Nades and their Australian-born girls were snatched from their Biloela home. To me, it still feels like yesterday.

Please, will you send a quick e-mail to tell your local MP this family needs to come home now?

It still sends shivers down my spine. When Border Force raided their home, Priya was warming a bottle for the baby. Nades was getting ready for his job at the local meatworks. Their Australian-born girls were asleep in their beds.

It was 5am.

A neighbour heard Priya’s terrified scream and ran into the street. She watched helplessly as baby Tharunicaa and toddler Kopika were separated from their parents for the long drive to Gladstone Airport.

Before most us had finished our morning coffee, they were gone.

Nades’ keys and wallet were found in his car. Meat for the evening meal was defrosting in the sink. There was a baby’s bottle left on the kitchen bench.

It’s hard to believe this beautiful family has endured 365 days in Melbourne’s harsh detention centre. But I can’t let this day pass without taking action.

Can you send a quick e-mail to your MP now?

Three-year-old Kopika and eighteen-month-old Tharunicaa are showing the damaging effects of isolation and stress. Both girls have dental problems and vitamin deficiencies.

Over 180,000 people have signed our petition. With your support, we’ve put a giant billboard in Mr Dutton’s electorate. We’ve led peaceful marches on the offices of key politicians. And today, we’ve put a powerful ad on page two of QLD’s daily newspaper.

Please don’t let this day pass without doing something to help this beautiful family.

You can find your MP’s details and send a quick e-mail from our action page in less than a minute.

Our politicians are meant to represent us. We have the numbers to hold them accountable - and I truly believe we are so close to bringing this beautiful family home to Bilo.

Thank you for everything you do,

Angela x

PS A big thank you to the 695 wonderful people who have already chipped in to put our ad on page 2 of Queensland’s daily newspaper today and build an emergency legal fund for Priya – thanks to you, we’re more than halfway to our crowdfunding goal! You can still chip in at bit.ly/home2biloela.
