On Tuesday 5th March, it will be exactly one year since Border Force snatched Priya, Nades and their gorgeous, QLD-born girls from our town.
Three-year-old Kopika has no other children to play with. Eighteen-month-old Tharunicaa is not eating properly. Both girls have dental problems and vitamin deficiencies.
In the last year, over 180,000 people have signed our petition to bring Priya, Nades and the girls home to Biloela.
When Mr Dutton publicly attacked this beautiful family, I had to do something. So I paid $1,000 to set with record straight with a local paper ad of my own.
For me, $1,000 is a lot of money. But when I heard the response from my local community, I knew it was worth every cent. And that gave me an idea.
Together, we’ve raised funds for legal support. We’ve put a giant billboard in Mr Dutton’s electorate. We’ve led peaceful, joyous marches on the offices of Mr Dutton, Immigration Minister David Coleman and our own local MP, Ken O’Dowd. We’ve even questioned the politicians live on national TV.
Today, I need your help again. Will you chip in to help me put a powerful ad in the Courier-Mail?
The truth is that Mr Dutton still believes he can win votes by forcing this beautiful family from Australia to danger.
That’s why, today, I need your help to reach 500,000 of Priya and Nades’ fellow Queenslanders with a powerful ad in the Courier-Mail, Queensland’s daily newspaper.
We don’t have much time. To send the strongest message, I need this ad to appear in the Courier-Mail on Tuesday 5th March – exactly one year since Border Force took Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa from their home.
At the same time, I need to build an emergency legal fund to make sure Priya can continue exercising her right to appeal to the High Court.
