On Friday, the Federal Court dismissed Priya’s appeal for re-consideration of her plea for safety.

Will you help me bring to this beautiful family home to Biloela by crowd funding legal costs to take Priya’s plea for safety to the High Court?

The Federal Court decision restrained Border Force from deporting this beautiful family before 1st February, giving us just a few short weeks to act.

This latest blow has left Priya and Nades devastated and fearful. But as they struggle with the news that they could be forced to Sri Lanka within weeks, their greatest fear is for the future of their two beautiful, Australian-born girls.

When I learned that the remains of children have been found in a mass grave uncovered in the north of this troubled, war-torn country, I truly understood their fears.

I wish I wasn’t sharing this distressing news just before Christmas. But I need you to know how urgent it is we do everything we can to bring this family home to Biloela.

This is a busy time for us all. But if you are reading this on Christmas Eve, please take a few moments to call the office of David Coleman, the Minister for Immigration on 02 6277 7770. Politely insist that Mr Coleman use his power to intervene on behalf of Priya, Nades, Kopika and Tharunicaa.

But we can’t afford to stop there. We need to be ready to take Priya’s case all the way to the High Court. Please chip in at chuffed.org/project/6-weeks-to-save-these-little-aussies to help secure Priya the best possible legal support.

And no matter where you are in Australia, please keep Saturday 19th January free to join with us in showing your support for Priya and Nades (more details to come).

Finally – and I hesitate to even repeat this – after 10 months of silence, on Saturday Mr Dutton took to the airwaves to accuse these gentle, loving parents of using their adored daughters as “leverage”.

Mr Dutton does not know Priya and Nades. He has not lived alongside them as friends and neighbours for four years. He has not witnessed the joy and hope that little Kopika and Tharunicaa have brought not only their loving Mum and Dad, but to all who meet them.

I know that Priya and Nades would do anything to keep their precious girls safe. And we will not rest until we bring them home to Biloela.

Wishing you all Merry Christmas and a safe, peaceful New Year,

Angela
