Australian Government; Help me save our Earth from permanent ecological collaspe

The issue

My Name is Arjun Sareen, and I'm here to scratch the surface on Ecological Collapse,

When you see on the news how the Antarctic ice caps are melting, global warming or imagine that your favourite place in the world has been destroyed with no chance of coming back to the same way it was, people can't put a pin on what is causing it? Ecological collapse is causing it. The examples I just gave were only 2 of about millions of cases all over the world. This is a problem that will affect us long time but is avoidable.

The Australian Government is probably one of the most democratic and fair governments in the world. But there isn't enough money or effort by the government going into the ecosystem killing issue. Ecological collapse has gone up 80% from 2020.

Ecosystems are the foundation for human life. They perform a range of functions without which human societies and economies could not operate at their current level. We depend on the services they provide for air, water, food, shelter and energy. Ecosystems are stable and strong over time but because of Humans effect on the world and supposedly 'making the world sick' it is also creating changes like local diversity and agriculture, Alteration in chemical balance, Modifications in the temperatures and water cycle and habitat loss.

This issue is nothing but destructive and life threatening, but how can we save or at least improve this problem in Australia. If Australia can improve it than the rest of the world will follow suit. We can help this problem by using 10 simple methods that will save our global home.

  • Bike more drive less ; Driving less takes the environmental footprint off the Earth creating a sustainable and healthy way of getting to places, for example whenever my mates and I are hungry we simple ride our bikes to the local Mcdonalds.
  • Don't put toxins in our waterways ; We could be much more smarter with the things that we put down the drain, when you put down toxics liquids like bleach, air fresheners, and drain cleaners go through the sewers and into the ocean, even though that they are filter some still escape and are deadly to touch. Imagine being a sea creature and swimming through it? Phytoplankton are little creatures that supply us with our oxygen and let us breath, toxins are killing them.
  • Volunteer ;Volunteering to help out in a community clean up can help stop rubbish going into our oceans meaning saving marine creatures and wildlife from eating something that they shouldn't.
  • Use long-lasting light bulbs ; The benefits are many and include increased energy efficiency, lower electric bills, a longer bulb life, and a better and safer light source overall. Just remember to switch the light off.
  • Shop Wisely ;  When you shop wisely you are not overbuying therefore wasting resources, you should also try not to buy plastic bags because they find their way to the ocean where the kill sea creature.
  • Choose Sustainably ; The food choices we make every day have a big effect on the environment. The good news is that even small changes in what we buy and eat can add up to real environmental benefits, including fewer toxic chemicals, reduced global warming emissions, and preservation of our ocean resources.
  • Conserve Water ; Using water-saving techniques can save you money and diverts less water from our rivers, bays, and estuaries, which helps keep the environment healthy. It can also reduce water and wastewater treatment costs and the amount of energy used to treat, pump, and heat water. This lowers energy demand, which helps prevent air pollution
  • Educate ;  We have to educate the next generation so that they don't make the same mistakes that people in the past made. If we educate them well enough the Earth will be on the right track to becoming healthy again, to me this is the most important thing that can happen going forward.
  • Plant a tree ; Trees are our second biggest supplier of oxygen in the world, behind Phytoplankton. Planting a tree will supply the Earth with oxygen and actually suck polluted air into it and give out fresh ,clean air.
  • Reusce, Reduce, Recycle ; Reusing, Reducing and Recycling can be on of the biggest game changers in this issue. By this method you can lessen how much emitted gas/air has been released into the system. It can also be really good and improve the environment by reducing your waste. Prevents pollution caused by reducing the need to harvest new raw materials,Saves energy, Reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global climate change and saves money. It also reduces the amount of waste that will need to be recycled or sent to landfills and incinerators allows products to be used to their fullest extent.

This may sound like a lot of work but once you do it it'll help you, and the world. So what are you waiting for, sign the petition and make the world and your home a better place.
