Video from the March, 2018 FCPS FLECAC meeting
Mar 20, 2018 — Following up on yesterday's update, here are 2 videos with subtitles and annotations on the absurd changes being made to the FCPS sex education (Family Life Education (FLE)) curriculum. I encourage you to view these videos of the March meeting and see the fringe thoughts and changes they are making in your child's education. They make incorrect claims that biological gender (sex) is not an acceptable term, it is not accepted, essentially meaningless, not used by medical organizations.
The second video captures the discussion on abstinence, which will be continued at the April 12, 2018 meeting of the FLECAC.
I encourage you to be at the next meeting to see first hand the discussion, and to be a visible representation of those who object to the non-scientific direction our FLE sex education program is headed.
FLECAC monthly meeting:
8115 Gatehouse Road
Falls Church, VA 22042,
Room 3050/3051 or Cafeteria if room fills past capacity
April 12, 2018, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m
Try to arrive between 6-6:30
I also encourage every parent to become involved in knowing what your children are being taught in the FLE program. The current year materials are online and accessible through your Blackboard login.
I especially encourage you to speak at FCPS School Board meetings. There are 10 public speaking slots available at each meeting. You can sign up ahead of time to speak on an agenda item for the meeting, or if the slots are not filled you may show up and sign up at the School Board meeting itself and speak on any topic you want. Meetings are every two weeks. The schedule and signup is here:
I also encourage you to write the FCPS School Board and Superindenent, and insist that "biological sex" is relevant in sex education and facilities where our children require privacy by their biological sex (locker rooms, showers, overnight trip sleeping arrangements, bathrooms, sports).
As I also said in the petition, there are areas where biological sex is the only trait that is relevant, and cannot be replaced with gender identity. Our kids deserve their privacy needs, and rights, to be protected.
