Actualización de la peticiónRespect all student rights in the FCPS gender-identity non-discrimination regulationYour help is needed to ensure our kids rights are protected

We have already done much to show our opposition to the regulation, the board meeting last Thursday was an incredible display and message to the school board.
So far, our request for community input has not be respected. The work session will not allow for any public comments or input.
We need to let the school board know, that our students' rights matter, and must be respected.
Here is what you can do to help:
1) Email the school board again, give them your input that you would like them to take into the work session. So far, this is our only mechanism for individually providing input into the process.

2) Get as many more signers for the petition as you can.
- If your spouse has not signed, get them to sign.
- The student's grandparents may sign, as well as any siblings, relatives or county taxpayers who are concerned for a student(s) in FCPS.
- Send the petition link to others in your neighborhood, community groups, religious faith groups, online groups or others you know to sign.
3) Spread the word, and make sure you attend the work session on Thursday, July 21. We don't have any input at the work session, however, a very large crowd presented as a sea of parents wearing red will send a visible message, loud and clear. Currently, it is scheduled on Thursday July 21, from 4PM to 6PM (but show up early, at 3:00) at:
School Board Conference Room 1600
Gatehouse Administration Center
8115 Gatehouse Road, Falls Church.
The location is subject to change if the facility is not large enough to hold all of us. Check BoardDocs for any changes or updates should there be any.
Make sure you are there early (3:00) and wear RED.
The school board needs to be accountable to their promises to us last year. They also need to represent ALL students needs in the regulation.
It is not acceptable to replace a pebble of discrimination with a great wall of discrimination. All the students deserve better.
NOTE: The petition creators are not affiliated with any groups or organizations, we are just individual parents who are concerned for their children who are students in FCPS. We come from many ethnic backgrounds, from life long citizens to first generation immigrants. We are from diverse religious backgrounds, as well as atheists. However despite our diversity, we share a common mandate for our children which cannot be compromised, and must be respected.
