Hi i’m a junior in Westlake Highschool near Lake Charles Lousiana. at our High school boys aren’t allowed to wear earrings but girls are. In the school hand book it does say that but it’s not even in the uniform category. it’s a rule for our whole school. I’m trying to change it and was wondering if everyone could help. I’m thinking of making a petition and having people sign in our community to show that it’s not just a small group but a lot of people. And also going to the main building and making a statement. And it’s not even every school. Most schools don’t even follow the rule but me and a friend were sent out of our class which was more disruptive to our education than the earring situation needed. I find it extremely sexist and was wondering if you all could help.
