In 1998, Scholastic published several tie-in books related to Godzilla, including a novelization​, picture books​, a junior novelization, and a scrapbook. The 1998 film Godzilla was critically panned and was a box office failure, disappointing many fans. After the rights to Godzilla held by Sony Pictures and TriStar expired in 2003, Toho rebranded the 1998 version of Godzilla as Zilla, a monster that appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars (2004). Since the 2010s, Scholastic has not published any Godzilla books, focusing instead on titles related to Jurassic Park/World, Pokémon, Marvel, DC, and Transformers. However, there have been parodies and homages to Godzilla in various other Scholastic books.

Will Scholastic and Toho produce more Godzilla books in the future? They are expected to create additional titles such as the Ultimate Godzilla Colouring Book, more MonsterVerse books, Scholastic reprints of existing MonsterVerse titles, and others that are planned for the future.

1998年、スコラスティック社はゴジラ関連のタイアップ本を数冊出版した。その中には小説、絵本、ジュニア小説、スクラップブックなどがある。1998年の映画『ゴジラ』は批評家から酷評され興行的にも失敗に終わり、多くのファンを失望させた。ソニー・ピクチャーズとトライスターが保有していたゴジラの権利が2003年に失効した後、東宝は1998年版のゴジラを『ゴジラ FINAL WARS』（2004年）に登場した怪獣ジラとしてリブランドした。2010年代以降、スコラスティック社はゴジラ関連の本を出版しておらず、代わりにジュラシック・パーク/ワールド、ポケモン、マーベル、DC、トランスフォーマー関連のタイトルに注力している。しかし、スコラスティック社の他の様々な本にはゴジラのパロディやオマージュが掲載されている。

スコラスティック社と東宝社は、今後もゴジラの本を出版するのでしょうか? アルティメット ゴジラ カラーリング ブック、モンスターバースの本、既存のモンスターバース タイトルのスコラスティック社による再版、その他将来計画されているタイトルなど、追加のタイトルが出版される予定です。
