Hello everyone!

Yesterday felt like the Olympics or the World Championship! It was a HUGE event. Firstly, I want say thank you for my faith because I couldn't do what I've been doing for four (4) years without my faith and belief. Secondly, I want to thank all of the supporters from the first individual to the 687th person. We have 687 signatures and individuals are still reviewing and sharing our petition. I see all of this when I check the status of the petition. I also want to thank the lawmakers who have helped throughout all of this. I will send thank you cards to them in the coming weeks just in case some are voted out of office because it is an election year.

Yesterday when I spoke to the Chief of Staff and the Chief Compliance Officer at SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid I spoke with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These are the gifts of the spirit or the fruits of my faith. It was very important I embodied this while I spoke to these senior leaders at SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid.

I have felt a lot of different emotions throughout this experience, but I allowed these senior leaders to see the warrior side. My counterpart in the Upstate calls me "a humble warrior." Thank you my friend! I just see it as me doing what has been tasked of me to do. I did what was placed on my heart to do (e.g. speak the truth in peace). I did that yesterday! It's still too early to see what SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid will do. According to SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid, they have revamped the Behavioral Health Division and there is newness in the division. I don't know because I walked away from SC Medicaid on my own free will. I also told the senior leaders I would be willing to help SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid fix many of the problems addressed in our 45 minutes meeting as a paid Healthcare Consultant (e.g. claim reviewers accurately reviewing the clinical service notes, having clinical individuals reviewing the clinical notes such as other trained licensed mental health professionals, having a standard procedure for the Medicaid Audits and everyone following the standard policy, establish an outside entity holding everyone accountable during Medicaid Audits including the medical providers, as well as, SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid). This isn't everything, but the essence of what needs to be changed. I also told the senior leaders I will be following up with my contact at SC Governor Henry McMaster's office to hold SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid accountable for the few things they offered to look at (e.g. specifically my past medical claims they denied that may have been denied in error, and holding SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid to the same standard SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid holds the contracted medical providers). Just to name a few things!

Ultimately, your support has helped me get to this level. And, I thank you. I have learned so much on this journey. I am becoming a healthcare consultant because of this journey. I was accepted to be a speaker at a local counseling conference next year. And my talk or speech will be on "How to Deal with a Routine Medicaid Audit." We (you and I) are still pushing, but we are getting closer to the ultimate goal. I will continue to keep you all up-to-date on this amazing journey. But thank you thank you for supporting me, the petition, the mental health movement, and more. Please continue to keep me, the petition, my community, and SCDHHS aka SC Medicaid in your prayers.

I don't know what medal I won yesterday (e.g. a gold, silver, or bronze), but I am happy I stood up and spoke to the senior leaders in truth & peace.
