Hello everyone. I have been working diligently on getting our message to the lawmakers. I teamed up with another therapist in the Upstate area (northern South Carolina), and she got a meeting with her US Congressman. She and I have met with his senior advisor several times, and he is working on something to take to the South Carolina Senate. This is huge! I also reached out to a local state house of representative candidate that is running for office, and she was very attentive and wanted to hear what are the problems with Medicaid aka SCDHHS. Overall, she understood that the culture/atmosphere at Medicaid aka SCDHHS, is not healthy or supportive for their medical providers. This is another win because this soon-to-be state house of representative is aware of some of the struggles and has asked what she can do. I said I wanted her to be aware of the problems and hopefully advocate to make needed changes to the law once she is in office. I also got a generic email from the White House concerning the petition. I am appreciative that someone wrote back because that is more than some South Carolina lawmakers have done in the past. I'm still working, and I will continue to work to get our message out there about this petition.
