Hello everyone! I wish I was writing to give good news. It has been two (2) months. I have waited for my state lawmakers to help and respond to our petition. No one called back. I called Governor Henry McMaster's office again today and spoke to an aide. She placed me on hold twice so she could talk to her supervisor. She tried to look in their system to see the email I sent their office on 08/11/2021 and my first call on 08/17/2021, but she found another complaint I made in 2017 that I never got a response for. I say all of this to say, I do not feel as though South Carolina's government is going to help. I reached out to the White House yesterday, and sent an email to let them know about the petition, the town hall meeting, and community events I hosted to spark a change on this issue. Please keep me and the petition in prayers that someone in the White House might be able to help. I talked to more mental health counselors over the last two (2) months. They have similar problems and many just walked away. I can't just walk away because my community is suffering. Beaufort County needs more mental health counselors that accept SC Medicaid. The struggle is real!
