Animal cruelty isn’t just a South Carolina problem

But we’re not stopping at signatures.

NOW WE TAKE THIS TO THE PEOPLE WHO CAN ACT.

South Carolina already has legislation before the General Assembly addressing animal cruelty.

H.5090 — Riley’s Act would increase penalties for several animal-cruelty offenses and create additional consequences for people convicted of certain animal-cruelty crimes. The bill was referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

So here’s what we are asking supporters to do:

🐾 CONTACT YOUR SOUTH CAROLINA LEGISLATORS.
🐾 ASK THEM TO TAKE ANIMAL CRUELTY SERIOUSLY.
🐾 ASK THEM TO SUPPORT STRONGER PROTECTIONS AND MEANINGFUL PENALTIES.

H.5090 was referred to the South Carolina House Judiciary Committee.

The committee is chaired by Wm. Weston J. Newton, with Wallace H. “Jay” Jordan Jr. as 1st Vice Chairman, along with the other current Judiciary Committee members.
