On April 7th, Del. Elizabeth Guzman will be hosting a policy potluck at the Warrenton Community Center, 430 E Shirley Ave, Warrenton, VA 20186, at 7:30 pm. This meeting is to address varied policy issues throughout her district, however if people would like to show up and broach this issue then they may. Del. Elizabeth Guzman will also be at Old Busthead Brewery, 7134 Farm Station Road, Warrenton, VA 20187, on April 9th, at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be to address VDOT's rt 29 proposals specifically. Folks can come and bring food, but please no outside alcoholic beverages (sodas and water are fine and are also for sale at the brewery for $1). This will be a great time for residents to bring their suggestions, questions, and concerns specific to the rt 29 proposal. ***This is the biggie*** On May 7th there will be a VDOT public hearing at their Culpeper County office 1601 Orange Road, Culpeper, Virginia 22701 (phone number 540-829-7500), at 4:30 pm. The Secretary of Transportation and representatives from the Commonwealth Transportation Board will be present. It is critical that we have people show up to speak at this meeting; it's a public hearing so citizens will be heard and their responses noted. There is no need to notify VDOT that you plan to come and speak; citizens can arrive and sign their name to the public forum; each resident will be given a maximum of three minutes to speak. Stay tuned for more as we closer approach the events. We need to oppose this with every effort.
