The UK government have funded and given the green light for ARIA to start artificial and potentially catastrophic sun dimming experiments in the UK.

These experiments, aimed at managing climate change will look at the consequences of reflecting sunlight away from the Earth's surface using aerosols  pumped into our atmosphere among other artificial methods. 

They will mainly involve indoor and simulation experiments however ARIA have confirmed that "small scale" outdoor experiments will also go ahead even though the consequences are yet unknown! 

They are a temporary fix that overshadow the pressing need to reduce carbon emissions in a more natural, sustainable and planet friendly way.

Without addressing the root causes of carbon emissions, we are merely spending valuable funds applying temporary plasters to an increasingly deep wound. 

By dimming the sun, not only do we risk unknown environmental side effects, but we also ignore the underlying causes of climate change, putting future generations and our delicate eco systems at risk. 

Blocking the sun may hinder our ability to grow food, damage wildlife and delicate ecosystems, and lead to unintended climatic side effects that could be irreversible.

If the scientists deem these tests successful they will be implemented and used to help reduce global warming by 2040.

Instead of exploring potentially harmful geoengineering methods, we must focus our efforts on sustainable practices that address the core of the environmental crisis.

Government have admitted that our current attempts to fix the issue are lacking and hope this to be a quick fix to bolster their efforts.

It's time to stop these dangerous and irresponsible methods and move towards renewable energy, reduce reliance on chemical-intensive agriculture, and implement stronger regulations on emissions.
