Archeological survey required on the premises

It is believed that Father Pierre Fauteux, one of the first priests of Annunciation Church, is buried under this building. If this is the case, this would make the site a Roman Catholic Burial Ground. Father Fauteux died in 1895.

The Diocese believes that Father Fauteux's body would have been handed over to the Jesuits, to be buried elsewhere and have mentioned that there is no record of a cemetery on the site. The Archives of Jesuits in Canada have no record, however, of a Jesuit Priest by his name. 

Supportive evidence (e.g., newspaper archives, records,  etc.) regarding this priest's burial on the site continues to be brought forward and shared in the community of Stoney Point.
