Say NO to the Data Center in East Whiteland, Pennsylvania

Say NO to the Data Center in East Whiteland, Pennsylvania
The Issue
Green Fig Land LLC, alongside JMR Engineering, want to construct a 1.5 million square foot data center at 15 S Bacton Hill Rd, Malvern, PA, on the Foote Mineral Co. Superfund Site. We say NO!
According to The University of Chicago, the AI boom has drastically exacerbated data center’s demand for freshwater cooling. Small data centers can consume up to 5 million gallons of water per day; equivalent to a town of about 50,000 inhabitants. This water comes from local rivers, aquifers, and municipal utilities. Water consumption will only increase as the demand for AI grows. Further, data centers rely heavily on fossil fuels, while chemical runoff from cooling systems contaminates our soils and waterways.
The proposal for this data center threatens the health, safety, and future of our community. East Whiteland families should not be forced to sacrifice clean water, breathable air, increased traffic, and peace of mind so a private developer can profit from an energy hungry industrial complex placed on already contaminated land.
Residents will face years of construction noise, constant traffic, and the endless hum of industrial cooling systems operating day and night. Just across the street from the plot is Bacton Hill Park, where children play.
Would you rather your kids experience nature, or the bleak concrete of industry? Property values, quality of life, and trust in the safety of our environment are all at risk. Once our water and soil resources are depleted or polluted, the damage cannot simply be undone. We cannot allow East Whiteland to become a breeding ground for industrial pollution fueled by the AI 'boom'.
By signing this petition, you are standing up for clean water, environmental responsibility, and the future of our township. Tell East Whiteland Township officials to reject this proposal and protect our community before it is too late.
