Victory.
The annexation was denied. The resort will not move forward. We have saved Paris Mountain, for now.

Tonight, the Travelers Rest Planning & Development Committee voted to DENY the annexation request for the proposed resort on Paris Mountain.

We did it.
And we did it together.

They told us we couldn’t win.
That the decision was already made.
That council wouldn’t listen.
That no one would care enough to stop it.

But they were wrong.

This isn’t just a win; it’s a message.
A message that communities can protect the places they love.
That when regular people show up...loud, unified, informed...they can shift the course of what seemed inevitable.

This didn’t happen because of money or politics.
It happened because of people.
Because you believed this place was worth fighting for.
Because one petition turned into a movement.
Because red shirts filled rooms and voices filled halls.

This was never just about stopping a resort.
It was about reminding each other, and our leaders, who this town is for.
It was about preserving something irreplaceable.

We did that. Together.

I’m proud. I’m grateful. I’m not done. And I know you’re not either.

Because if we can do this...what else can we protect???
