In an email received by some members of SCOAG (Stop Clontarf Overpass Action Group) late yesterday, TMR admitted the location of the proposed Overpass was influenced by concerns from the high school of "students crossing Elizabeth Avenue at various points to access Macca's". This means that mature gum trees that are used by koalas from our local Hay's Inlet Colony will be removed.
The Overpass could be sited 50 metres further south where there are NO trees exist, but it was felt this location would not service the businesses up to Oasis Court.
The location 50 metres south would also service students using the Silcock entrance/exit of the high school but apparently student safety is not being considered here.
What do you think?
