But all over Europe people are rising up –micro and small business owners, young people, artists, activists and educators – all challenging economic and environmental threats and building grassroots power. With your support ASMAA will be ready for the challenges – and the opportunities that awaits us in 2015. There’s now two major issues that ASMAA will be tackling starting in January: Deep offshore Oil drilling off the Algarve coasts and the new EU VAT (IVA). We are carrying on with the fight against the deep offshore oil exploration not only in the Algarve south coast but now also in the Algarve western coast – and we are planning a “Twitterton” in January. We hope that you will join us in twitting Repsol, Partex, Galp, ENI, the EU DG Energy and the Portuguese Government taking them to task. We will give you warning on dates closer to the time. And if that was not enough, the latest threat to small and micro businesses across Europe - is the new EU VAT issue that comes into effect tonight at midnight and which must people don't know about – affecting all electronic commerce and which we expect to be expanded into all services and products within the EU by 2016 – this will result in thousands of solo entrepreneurs losing their businesses and their income and survival.
