A potential environmental catastrophe of terrifying proportions is fast gaining ground in the Algarve if we the people living here or visiting this paradise do not stop it once and for all. To support this allegation we just have to look at what took place in the Portuguese Parliament this past week. To deter the government and the petroleum companies hell bent on drilling our land and ocean in 2017 we need your help. What we do works – together, we’ve managed to stop for the time being the drilling on land in Aljezur (Portfuel), as well the planned drillings for this year by Repsol / Partex and the Galp/ENI consortiums – but we have to up the fight if we are to stop them in 2017. Many anti-oil actions are planned for the rest of 2016 and for 2017. But to do them we need to raise funds to support our campaigning. We rely entirely on donations and receive no money from governments or corporations. Our tiny team ensures even the smallest contributions go a long way. Our small team works over 14 hours a day, and on average 7 days a week as unpaid volunteers. We know that we need to raise 2850€ to carry campaigning costs for November and December.
