Say No to Mississippi HB1484

Say No to Mississippi HB1484
The Issue
I humbly ask you to reach out to the House of Representatives in Mississippi and ask them to reject HB1484, known as the MS Illegal Alien Certified Bounty Hunter Program. This program is problematic and polarizing. It threatens to undermine the human rights of the immigrant population in Mississippi.
The bill was introduced on January 20th, 2025 by House Representative Justin Keen, District 6. The bill proposes an "information system" of licensed bail bond agents, and 65 off duty law enforcement officers (Section 1.6a) to track and apprehend individuals suspected of being in the United States illegally. The bill also proposes an anonymous report line and if an arrest is made from your report, you are eligible for a reward of $1,000.00 (Section 1.6d). If passed, the bill will go into effect on July 1st, 2025. The danger of this is evident in cases of racial profiling and human rights violations.
Your voice can make a difference in the fight for justice. Sign and share this petition today. By signing this, you are not only standing up for the rights of immigrants in Mississippi, but for justice, equality, and the dignity of every human being.
