In any legal challenge, the court would frown upon one party commencing action without attempting first, to come to a mutually satisfying resolution to the issue at hand.
To that end, on behalf of our group seeking to remove the "mandtory" nature of the program, Adam Chisholm of McMillan LLP has reached out to OREA’s President, Tania Artenosi, this morning.
.
Mr. Chisholm’s letter highlights those members who will be most impacted by the ORWP and the possible legal risks that may arise as a result of the implementation of the mandatory ORWP. The seriousness of the letter reflects the very real concerns that some of our colleagues have. It is important to note though, that no action has been commenced or legal determinations reached, as of the writing of this update.
.
We stand together and implore OREA to consider the individual needs and views of its members. We will continue to apprise you of all further developments.
