Good morning! I'm hoping to see over 14000 Ontario realtors attend the town hall today.

As of today, orea has conducted townhalls for many board associations and participated in at least two podcasts. Their answers are the same every time - almost robotic.

So today we are asking that you ask different questions if you make it to the microphone, questions that haven't been asked. Questions that, for the most part are seeking a "yes" or "no" answer. Questions that don't elicit the "we've got your backs" and "a safety net was important" and "we needed it quickly" responses.

Lets make this count! We do not want 20 minutes of our already limited time wasted on introductions, of the panel or the issue. They've controlled the room and the narrative thus far; let's hold them accountable for using 90 minutes for us TO ASK ANYTHING.

A list of questions will be sent just prior to the meeting. Our goal is to avoid using the limited time, asking questions we have the answers to, such as "why do we need 96000 participants" and "why do seniors lose benefits and pay the same premium".

Questions about your personal situation take a lot of time to ask and a lot of time to answer. We have limited time.

So write your question down before the meeting. Be sure your question is one that will elicit answers that prove orea was not acting in our best interests when they voted June 20th.

Wear something red as a sign that we want to STOP the mandatory ORWP.

Please, remain respectful; we are professionals!

Our legal challenge is set to be rolled out in the coming weeks and the SGM that the opposing 10 boards requested will take place. We have a lot to look forward to! Let's make this town hall a fact finding mission! Let's see if OREA is going to continue to lock themselves into the story they've told for 4 months, that the majority want this mandatory ORWP. Let's see if they say there were 7 townhalls prior to the vote.... Or 16. Let's see if they say there were 3 opportunities for the Assembly to ask questions at the vote... Or 7.

In other words, let's let them continue to make unfounded statements. Let's let them continue gaslighting us. I'm no lawyer but these townhalls and the statements orea makes at them, may be useful down the road. Alllllll the inconsistencies. Alllllll the passing blame onto our board associations.
