Say NO to In Tents of Hope Homeless Project in Calhan, Colorado

Say NO to In Tents of Hope Homeless Project in Calhan, Colorado
The Issue
FYI: Change dot org will ask you for a donation. This donation will not go to our cause, so please skip that step.
The El Paso Board of County Commissioners have approved MANY projects in the past, in spite of the massive public outcry from our rural communities: i.e. wind turbines and Xcel high voltage power lines.
Recently, there has been land purchased in Calhan, Colorado by the owner of the homeless tent project "In Tents of Hope." If approved by El Paso County Commissioners, it will negatively affect our homeless veterans by abandoning them out here in our treacherous climate, in tents! It will also negatively affect our rural land use rights, the value of our homes and properties, and our sense of personal safety and sanctuary.
We are outraged, and refusing to take this lying down. We are searching for a law firm to take our case for a possible Class Action Lawsuit.
Please SIGN and SHARE NOW if you are against Colorado Springs abandoning our poor homeless folks in Calhan, out in the middle of nowhere, IN TENTS!
Please SIGN and SHARE NOW if you are tired of the El Paso County Commissioners approving projects that are detrimental and harmful to our rural way of life, and land ownership rights!

There is a printable handout available for your neighbors. Please contact me via Nextdoor or Facebook and it will be sent to you!
Talking points:
-Treacherous climate and weather: tornadoes, record breaking hail, hurricane-force wind, sub-zero temperatures
-No services for them
-Wind Turbine Syndrome
-Wild animals (lions, coyotes, bears)
-Agriculture zoning
-By homesteads/families with small children
-Would increase crime in area
-Would ruin the value of our homes/property
-Long time before first responders arrive
-Would put our safety at risk
-Increase in insurance premiums
-Increase in fire danger
-Increase in trash
-Increase in pollution
-Environmental impact study expensive
-Possible poor response to mass casualty incident
-Too dense of population per acre
-Strain on small medical clinic in town
-Financial strain on various town resources
-Strain on land for water and sewage
Thanks for your support!
