Andrew Weaver, Green Party Leader, has come out as one of the most vocal supporters in the legislature of the NDP plan to get ICBC to define and cap "mental illnesses", "psychiatric or psychological injuries" such as PTSD and depression as "minor injuries". Earth to Mr. Weaver: mental illness very often result in severe disabilities and even suicide. Mr. Weaver also is supporting the plan to restrict access to the independent court system if you have a dispute with ICBC over your health care treatment. At the same time, Mr. Weaver had no problem fully using the court system to sue when his feelings were hurt (his case being dismissed by the court).
