Petition updateSay NO to Housing Violent Sex Offenders from Outside Walworth CountyMeeting Changed: We are Making Progress!

The County Board has cancelled tomorrow's Housing Sexually Violent Persons Committee meeting, and instead will be handling the matter at the County Board meeting on December 9th, 2025, at 5pm. This is a very good sign.

They will be discussing directing staff not to support a change in statutes that would allow a sexually violent person from another county to be housed in Walworth County. We are making progress!

Walworth County will most likely need to build housing for our 4 sexually violent offenders in the future; the Board does not seem to be addressing that at this time. The Hodges Road site is also not being discussed.

If you can't make it to the County Board meeting, you can watch the livestream here:

You can still comment remotely by calling the County Administrator’s Office at 262-741-4357 on December 9 at least 15 minutes before the start of the meeting.  You don't need to say much, just your name, address, and that you oppose both the Hodges Road site and Racine sex offenders living in Walworth County.
