--> URGENT! HELP SECURE THE NEXT VICTORY <--

Hope certainly does come in waves! 💙 🌊 🌊

The Norwegian government has put its plans to exploit the deep sea for minerals on hold for now. This is amazing news for the ocean and for the movement to stop deep-sea mining in its tracks.

Whilst Norway was pushing to open their waters to destructive seabed mining, opposition has been growing, not just in Norway, but around the world. For example earlier this year, the European Parliament overwhelmingly voted against Norway’s decision to open the Arctic up to mining. The Ocean and Us was among those that urged Members of European Parliament to demand that Norway cease their plans to destroy the deep sea for profit.

Organisations, ocean advocates, business leaders and scientists everywhere are beating the drum for a moratorium on deep-sea mining.

The battle is not won, but this is a major milestone in the campaign to protect the ocean and our deep seas. We must make sure that the High Seas (the ocean that belongs to all of us) remain off limits to mining.

Help us win the battle by sharing this petition saying NO to deep-sea mining.

We are grateful for all donations, big and small, that make our work possible.

Remember deep-sea mining is a disaster we can stop we before it begins! But only if we pull together. 💪🏽 🌊

If you, and everyone reading this, chips in just 10 - 20 Euro / dollar, or the equivalent of your favourite drink, then together we can stop deep-sea mining!
