Petition updateSay NO to Deep-Sea Mining

We will not turn our ocean to waste!

Momentum to stop a disaster from starting keeps building. This week WWF decided to take the Norwegian Government to court over their decision to open up the Norwegian seabed to mining.

In February of this year, The Ocean and Us sent letters to all the Dutch Members of European Parliament urging them to call out Norway’s reckless decision, one that will impact us all.

Initiating legal proceedings are never easy but it is so necessary. Thank you to the team at WWF. There is no legal or moral basis to turn our ocean to waste. The ocean is literally the cradle of life, providing much of the oxygen we breathe, regulating our climate,  providing us with food, jobs and well-being.

Embarking on a new extractive industrial activity that we KNOW will destroy the very fabric of what sustains us is ecocide.

We will not stand by and let it happen. As WWF battles the Norwegian government, we at The Ocean and Us are getting ready to engage with communities along the Pacific Coast of the Americas.

We need you. Just 5 euro / dollar from everyone who signed the petition will help us deliver the next victory!
