Petition- Bring the perpetrators of child abuse to justice with the maximum punishment.

It is absolutely schocking to see the recent child abuse cases that has stirred in the news; including the alleged rape of a reportedly 16 month old girl in a hotel wash room by the paramour of her mother, which caused the death of the girl. As per the police sources, the suspects belong to a gypsy clan.
This vicious abuse is not the first of its kind- according to the Child protection  Authority with 2500 reported abuses in the just first 60 days of 2020.

What image does this provide about our country's culture and people?Our values must not be spoiled by people of low morals such as child abusers. Such actions cannot be tolerated and should be condemned by all the citizens. Every child must be given the right to see the world and it is the responsibility of the parents and the society to protect them. The authorities must be vigilant about those who don't do so.

While these people have been arrested and will be brought to justice it is necessary that such incidents are avoided in the future. For that, strong punishments should be carried out against these alleged perpetrators, perhaps even the maximum punishment of death penalty.
Moreover, they should be served with justice as soon as possible without any delays in trials. These kind of actions will force abusers and their supporters to think twice before such brutality is carried out in the future.
Furthermore, there needs to be a further strengthening in the mechanisms to counter child abuse with increased awarness about the issue, ways to report and action to break the stigma around reporting.
As a mother, appalled by the recent incidents, I along with all the other petitioners urge the government to take immediate actions against those who carried out this heinous crime on the helpless 16 moth old girl and any other child abusers who are awaiting trial.

විශේෂයෙන්ම පසුගිය දා
මාස 16ක් වයසැති දැරියකගේ මවගේ අනියම් සැමියා විසින් හෝටලයක වැසිකිලීයක් තුලදී දූෂණයට ලක් වීම නිසා දැරිය මරණයට පත්වීම හද සසළ කරන සිදුවීමකි !
පොලිස් ආරංචි මාර්ග වලට අනුව සැකකරුවන් අහිකුන්ටක කාන්ඩයකට අයිති අය වන අතර දැනට ඔවුන් රිමාන්ඩ් සිර භාරයට ගෙන ඇත.

.ළමා ආරක්ෂණ අධිකාරියට අනුව 2020 පළමු දින 60 තුළ අපයෝජන 2500 ක් වාර්තා වී තිබේ. !"
මේ දත්ත අපේ රටේ සංස්කෘතිය හා ජනතාව පිළිබඳව සපයන ප්‍රතිරූපය කුමක්ද?
ළමා අපයෝජකයින් වැනි පහත් සදාචාරයක් ඇති පුද්ගලයින් බහුලව සිටින රටක තවදු සාරධර්ම ගැන අපට කතා කල හැකිද ? එවැනි ක්‍රියා තවදුරටත් ඉවසා සිටිය යුතු නොවේ. එවැනි සිද්ධීන් රටේ සියලු පුරවැසියන් විසින් හෙළා දැකිය යුතුවේ"

.සෑම දරුවෙකුටම ලෝකය දැකීමේ අයිතිය ලබා දිය යුතු අතර ඔවුන් ආරක්ෂා කිරීම දෙමාපියන්ගේ හා සමාජයේ වගකීම වේ. එසේ නොකරන අය ගැන බලධාරීන් සුපරීක්ෂාකාරී විය යුතුය.
එවැනි පුද්ගලයින් හට තදින් නීතිය ක්‍රියා කිරීම මගින් අනාගතයේදී මෙවැනි සිදුවීම් වළක්වා ගැනීමට හැකිවේ.
ඒ සඳහා මෙම චූදිතයන්ට එරෙහිව දැඩි දඬුවම් ලබා දිය යුතුය.
සමහර විට මරණීය දණ්ඩනය උපරිම වශයෙන් නියම කළ හැකිය.
එපමණක් නොව නඩු විභාගවල ප්‍රමාදයකින් තොරව හැකි ඉක්මනින් ඔවුන්ට යුක්තිය ඉටු කළ යුතුය.
අනාගතයේදී මෙවැනි කුරිරුකම් සිදුකිරීමට අපයෝජකයින්ට සහ ඔවුන්ගේ ආධාරකරුවන් දෙවරක් සිතා බැලීමට නම්
වින්ධිතයින්ට යුක්තිය ඉටු කිරීම අත්‍යාවශ්‍ය වේ.
තවද ළමා අපයෝජන මැඩපැවැත්වීම සඳහා වන යාන්ත්‍රණයන් තව දුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීම අවශ්‍ය වේ.
මෑත සිදුවීම්වලින් තැතිගත් මවක් ලෙස මම සහ අනෙකුත් සියලුම පෙත්සම්කරුවන්ද සමගින් අසරණ මාස 16ක් වයසැති දැරියගේ අපරාධය කරුවන්ටද
නඩු විභාග බලාපොරොත්තුවෙන් සිටින අනෙකුත් ළමා අපයෝජකයින්ට එරෙහිව වහාම පියවර ගන්නා ලෙස රජයෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.
