Please help keep the pressure on EE

Thank you everyone who has signed this petition so far. Ward Councillors Crayford and Saunders met with a representative from EE last week, regarding the proposal for a new telecommunications mast at the corner of Lower Road / Ospringe Road.

During the meeting, we raised the significant level of opposition being expressed by local residents regarding the plan and reminded EE that their previous similar applications had been identified by both Swale Borough Council and the Planning Inspectorate as incongruous, visually intrusive and detrimental to the character and appearance of the area.

Our understanding from the discussion was that, although EE will commit to engaging directly with local residents and the wider community before moving forward with its proposals, it remains committed to installing a new mast at the planned location or very nearby.  

Following the meeting we plan to continue pressing EE on carrying out proper consultation with local residents, engaging with conservation experts and identifying better potential sites before it makes any final decisions on a mast location. Please encourage neighbours and friends who haven’t signed this petition yet, to do so as soon as possible. It will help make it clear to EE that it does not have public support for what it is planning.
