Thanks for signing the petition opposing a 24hr Macdonalds in Newtown.  And special thanks if you also emailed a submission!

The City of Sydney council will be deciding whether to approve or reject the application next Wednesday 15th October at their Local Planning Panel meeting from 5pm at Town Hall (in the city).

Please come if you can! It would be great to get as many people as possible to this meeting, to show the level of community opposition. 

 You can also speak at the meeting. To do so, you need to email secretariat@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au  before 10am on the day of the meeting, saying you'd like to speak. You'll get 2-3 mins to have your say.

Council received over 1,400 submissions on the application, the majority of which were opposed to it. (Go team!) Staff have recommended the council reject it. But it is still up to the council to make a decision, so the more community opposition they see at the meeting, the more likely they are to reject it.
