The Guilford County Board of Education will vote on execution of an architectural/engineering contract to design a new campus and facility for Lindley Elementary on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The open meeting starts at 6pm and is located in the Guilford County Schools Board Room at 712 N. Eugene St.

Approval of the contract is the next step in fulfilling GCS's commitment to use Bond Funds to address repair, rebuilding, or replacement of county schools in priority order of greatest need. Initially Lindley School was earmarked for a $7.5 million restoration and addition, but to meet the NC Dept. of Public Instruction guidelines for providing adequate and safe school facilities, GCS is considering the possibility of new construction. The contract includes an initial period of community engagement, during which parents, teachers, and residents of the surrounding communities will have the opportunity to provide input directly to the consultants.
