Hello all,

Sorry for the delay in an update but I've been gathering info/ideas.

(Thanks Andrew, Erin, Graham - I'll respond to you individually).

I've replied to our friend "Alex" at Greene King with said ideas and opinions: Using the bunker as a gig venue, turning the bunker into a bottle bar/off license etc.

As well as gaining some clarification of the impending closing date and also what the future holds as I had heard whispers of a takeover.

Please find the following from Alex received today 20/03/2024 at 08:36

Hi Craig

Thanks for your e mail. I appreciate your frustration at the closure but there are financial metrics we need for a business to remain viable and we have been unable to meet these. Some great ideas in terms of how the venue could be run, but we have explored the myriad of options. The venue is not straight forward which made all the options unviable

The last trading day is Sunday 24th March and as we expect with all pubs that remain open and trading they will do everything to ensure every customer has a great time

We are unaware of what happens next to the businesses as we don’t own the freehold which also added to some of the complications. As I mentioned previously we have 15 other pubs in Edinburgh where customers will be guided. These are some of the city’s most historic business. All our Team are being redeployed across these pubs so there will be no losses.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to welcoming you to our other pubs in the area soon.

If you should have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Regards

So there you have it folks, it's down to money as it always seems to be nowadays.

Last orders will be on Sunday.

I fully intend on getting a couple in later on Sunday night, so if you see me feel free to give me a shout.

Thank you for joining me on this journey.

Cheers & Beers

Craig
