#saveourclubculture - Rettet den Nuke Club

Das Problem

Deutsch

For years Berlin's club culture has been in the greatest of dangers as more and more clubs had to give way to new construction projects. Now it hit us: the Nuke Club in Berlin-Friedrichshain, which at this location has been the home place for rockers, metalheads and gothics in Berlin since 2003 (until 2016 under the name K17), was terminated the tenancy by the landlord, S IMMO Germany GmbH, with effect from July 31th.

After we somehow managed and still manage to survive the Corona pandemy thanks to subsidies and many donations (a considerable amount of these subsidies was used for rent payments to the landlord) we were evicted now and have to vacate the premises in the shortest time possible - the management of the company was not willing to make any concessions.

On May 7th 2021 the German government decided, that in the future clubs and live venues should be under special protection as cultural assets. We demand that these words are (especially now) followed by deeds.

We demand from S IMMO GmbH:

  • the suspension of termination and a fair rental contract with reasonable notice periods, provisionally an extension until at least the end of the year or until a new location has been found

From the senate of Berlin and politicians of all parties:

  • political help with the negotiation with S IMMO and with the search and rental of a new location
