The state of Manipur is witnessing a huge spate of violence and arson and the common citizens are suffering. Horrible instances of burning of homes, businesses and places of worship along with violence and lawlessness are reported from several districts across the state.  A political promise of including a section of a community in the ST list has resulted in a complete breakdown of law and order. As responsible citizens of India, we must establish peace in the state. 

With this petition, we appeal to the President of India to ensure peace in the state. She belongs to the indigenous tribal community, and we expect her to empathize with the vulnerable communities of the state. We urge the President of India to restore law and order and ensure the safety of life and property. We urge to consider the imposition of Article 356 of the Constitution of India, i.e. President’s Rule in the state.  This step can ensure peace and tranquillity among warring communities. The fundamental rights of every community need to be protected. 

We also appeal for peace from every side. Any issue can be resolved by peacefully sitting across the table. Kindly spread this message and help save the people of Manipur from this travesty.
