We Won!
After 11 years, we finally won. Who knew fighting for home studios in Music City went to eleven?

What started with a cease-and-desist letter against my home recording studio in 2015 turned into a long legal fight over the rights of home-based businesses in Nashville. In 2020 we were able to change the law for everyone with limitations, but in 2026 we won the lawsuit setting the precedent for equal treatment for home recording studios.

Alongside my co-plaintiff Pat Raynor, and with the incredible help of the Institute for Justice, and The Beacon Center of Tennessee we challenged Nashville's restrictions all the way through the courts. Its nice when the Supreme Court votes in your favor right?

The result is a major victory not only for home studios, but for home-based businesses throughout Davidson County.
