With so many critically important things happening all across the country right now it would be easy to lose sight of the fact that...
We still need to Save Home Studios and other home businesses in Music City now more than ever!
But why?
Well... that's up to you. And the Metro Council wants to hear from you if you live in Davidson County.
So let's make a video together to let them know why. (link at the bottom)
Nashville Metro Council will be voting on BL2019-48 next week on Tuesday, June 9 at 6 pm with one final public hearing.
If passed then the new bill will finally legalize home business and allow people to serve customers in the home. (it’s illegal right now). And this will allow many people to survive as we rebuild the economy.
We all rely on home businesses whether we realize it or not.
For example, I support my family by recording songwriters and musicians in my home recording studio. And they rely on my home studio to provide an affordable recording opportunity to create music for everyone to enjoy.
I know people baking bread, sewing masks, teaching music lessons, tutoring, teaching yoga, practicing healing arts, giving haircuts, and providing Nashville with many essential services all from their homes. The list goes on.
But... our ability to work from home with customers was illegal before the quarantine and it will remain illegal after the quarantine unless the Nashville Metro Council votes “yes” on BL2019-48.
So let’s make sure our voices are heard and get the message to them now before they vote on this important bill next week!
Send us a one-sentence short video clip in your own words...
“Why is home business important to you?”
Watch my example and submit your video here: https://forms.gle/RnYqxYKL7oAAa7Fv6
We plan to edit this video together and circulate it over the weekend. So don’t overthink your reply. Just say what you feel and send it in now.
And remember to mark your calendars for next week Tuesday, June 9, 6 pm for the Metro Council meeting and public hearing for BL2019-48
Let’s win this thing!
Cheers,
Lij Shaw
