Finally... an update!
Natural England have written to us and proposed a meeting date to discuss whether horse riding in Harlow Woods could be a consented activity. The meeting will be held on 28th November and will have Natural England and Harlow Council attending alongside our representatives.
In advance of this meeting, they have requested that we provide details on where the horse riders actually want to go, which areas they would need to access in order to reach that place and an estimate of the number of horse riders that would need to use that route?
Whilst we remain cautious, this is a positive step forward in that we now have the opportunity to submit directly to Natural England what we feel might be a reasonable way forward rather than be reliant on council representatives at closed meetings.
As always, we will do our research and provide a variety of options that we believe will allow for hacking whilst protecting the woodland and ensuring that it remains accessible for all users.
We will keep you updated on any progress between now and then... Please keep sharing the petition - We are only 13 signatures away from 2,000 and it would be fantastic to reach that milestone!
