I want to personally thank ALL of the candidates for volunteering their time and talents to this election. Elections are hard - as is governing an organization with over 37,000 members! It's hard to keep that many people happy. We get it. And we appreciate you. 

Ivan, Damien and Abdel: We support you in your journey! And we know that you will do your absolute best to keep our young fencers safe, supported and flourishing as they continue to grow within this community. 

To the returning USA Fencing Board of Directors and all the USA Fencing Staff: Thank you for your continued service to the lifelong sport of fencing and for your thoughtful, patient and measured leadership as we continue to grow. 

For all of the parents and coaches and referees and club owners and supporters of Youth Fencing: thank you for ALL that you do! The fruits of your labor may not even be visible for another decade or two - but I assure you - what you do matters IMMENSELY. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

If you are prepping for Summer Nationals now, or maybe just taking a break for the season, don't forget to spend a little time enjoying the simple things: a cool breeze, the warm sunshine, and the loving company of those closest to your heart. And remember, "blessed is the man who plants the tree under whose shade he will never sit."
