This election is a BIG DEAL.

THIS WEEK is your last chance to VOTE in the 2023 USA Fencing Board of Directors Election!

Voting ends on June 5th. 

Who Already Voted? 

As of today, only 2,004 ballots have been received out of 9,395 eligible voters. That's only 21% participation, folks! Voter Participation Stats

21%?!?  We can do better than this! 

Are you going to let such a small crowd express the electoral views of such a big organization?

Would you give a Great Dane kibble designed for a Dachshund? Of course not! He'd starve to death. 

If we want to keep our organization healthy and thriving, we need to to elect leaders who are in sync with actual reality. And we need to hold accountable the ones who aren't. 

Why aren't people voting?

Maybe people don't think this election is important. Maybe they don't really care who wins. Maybe they don't know who to vote for. Maybe they worry their vote won't count. Maybe people are thinking "my voice doesn't matter" or "this election doesn't really affect me anyway." 

Wrong! We all know how poor participation works in the real world. Resting on our laurels is absolutely not an option this year. This election affects ALL OF US and it MATTERS.

Youth Fencers make up one third of USA Fencing's membership. The cash flow from Youth Fencing families is a vital lifeline for the organization and nearly every club and fencing vender across America. That's a BIG DEAL. That's a BIG VOICE. Use it. They will listen. 

How Are Champions Made? 

We all LOVE & ADORE our Fencing Champions and Olympians. And we know they aren't made overnight. Great athletes don't just magically appear. They require a lifetime of organizational support from coaches, clubs, parents, schools, teammates and quality competition. We need leadership with the skills and value systems that reflect this reality. And we need it now. Not two elections from now. 

Today's Homework: Fifty Percent Voter Participation

Even if you already voted, you have work to do. 

Call your friends, coaches and club mates. Tell them who you're voting for! Tell them why it matters! Tell them to check their email and submit their ballots! Let's rock this vote! We've got five days. 

Let's get this number over fifty percent (50%)!!! We can DO THIS! Our kids are counting us. Our coaches are counting on us. Our clubs are counting on us. Our country is counting on us. Be the voice! Get out the vote! 

Remember, rank your top three candidates No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3. Rank your bottom three candidates No. 11, No. 10 and No. 9. Don't leave any blank or you risk contributing to vote redistribution in a way that does not truly reflect your preferences.
