Climate change is an imminent figure that has instilled fear and anxiety in scientist and even people in our community. How can we combat this discomfort in the community of Gardena? I would like to propose more implementation of Recycling bins around the community as well as a local Garden. Gardening/farming is highly recommended to help combat the affects of climate change, it helps through the reducing of carbon emissions as well as increasing the storage of carbon in the soil. Besides gardening I am also proposing Putting up local recycling bins. Implementing these bins can encourage people to recycle because they are available, and people may feel less of  burden carrying around empty bottles. 

In the corner of Rosecrans and Wadkins, there is an empty strip of land, which can be used for the garden. This place close to a very populated area and holds enough lands to plant several diverse plants. According to The University of Maryland Extension, having a heavily diverse group can help resilience of the garden. 

Getting recycling bins can be done through reaching out to local officials and asking for attention to climate change and the community needs. If we raise enough signatures we can show our dedication and wants.

All this can be accomplished through your aid, by engaging with this petition we can gain recognition from community members and officials. It would be largely helpful. Actions is needed now, without some wave of action we cannot fully feel at ease. Our movement can spark other movements with similar intentions. A signature can go a long way in beginning change, sparking that light needed to enable out community to get involved in healing our world.
