Even out of season the petition keeps growing.

So many local charities benefit from Woodcot and have done for years:

Salcombe Mini bus, Salcombe  RNLI,  Salcombe Church… to name but a few.

Salcombe minibus for example would be £8500 poorer were it not for Woodcot and Miss Jennings legacy.

The loss of Woodcot will deny those charities substantial loss of future income. Why should they lose out to Age UK? 

Salcombe Minibus  - which provides vital transport links,  days out and shopping trips for people who because they live in a rural area with infrequent public transport would otherwise miss out.  Thanks to Salcombe mini bus this isn’t the case. 

This is what they told the Woodcot campaign: 

Salcombe Minibus has used Woodcot for annual August fund-raising events for many years, mainly public cream teas with sponsored raffles.  Since Covid, we have changed this to "afternoons on the lawns" for the residents of the town, where they enjoy a social afternoon having tea and cake in the grounds,  enjoying the stunning views.   We also use the grounds for promotional handover minibus events & photo opportunities each time we replace our vehicle with a new one, approximately every 8 years. 

We publish a news item and trip schedule in the Parish Magazine (The 3 in 1) every month.  Salcombe Minibus raised over £8500 at our annual Woodcot events between 2014, and the most recent event in August 2025.    If we were no longer able to use the property and its grounds to hold promotional and fund-raising events and social gatherings, it would be a great loss and disappointment to our charity and the residents of the town; particularly the frail and elderly ones.
