The thing about the media is that where one goes, others follow…

Country Life magazine, that beautiful glossy beloved of the rural elite is the latest in a growing list of publications to cover the story of Woodcot.

If ever a magazine had a long shelf life it is Country Life along with National Geographic and Time it is collectable - country houses the length and breadth of the country usually have a pile of past editions of Country Life magazines lying around.

The story of Woodcot will be immortalised far into the future. Age UK take note.

The news media though is a different story. Consider this you license payers…

To date, two separate BBC news crews have filmed interviews with the residents, the town mayor and the activists at the heart of this story- yet still no transmission- why can this be?

Could they have been got at? Silenced? The BBC? Surely not?

Could it be that that once globally revered institution the BBC is now cowed and silenced in the face of a story about a charity using its own charitable donations to overturn a covenant on a property that was given to them in the first place , a covenant that protects in law their own beneficiaries…whom they are turfing out in favour of their bottom line ?

Is this really where we are at?

If that  great bastion of free speech Country Life can publish and be damned - why not the Beeb?

What gives?
