Salcombe Town Council met tonight in Cliff House- the french doors  flung wide open onto the glorious view that is Salcombe estuary at high tide. Salcombe yawls tacking slowly back and forth as the council debated Woodcot.

 A blissful scene only possible thanks to the generosity of one family. The very same family who gave Woodcot to charity. Salcombe without Cliff House, the Salcombe Yacht Club, and Woodcot is unthinkable. The town would not be the same without them. 
The legacy of this family must be honoured. If Age UK sell out on their marvellous good fortune then it begs the question why would anyone leave a legacy to charity? 

The town council are listening… the meeting - publicised on here - was moved to the larger main assembly room rather than the council chamber to accommodate the growing number of people who are taking a keen interest in this campaign. 

Just as well, locals, honorary residents ( aka second home owners - sorry ) and visitors turned up to speak and show their support. One thing is clear… Salcombe’s reach extends far beyond the reach of the parish boundary. 

A community united… let’s build on that.
