Gossip is rife in Salcombe right now. It is being said that the petition is too adversarial - do you think this is the case?  

How else can the local community share its concerns about a much loved local asset? 

Age UK are saying very little-  despite being contacted by many concerned local interests…. They say that selling is in the greatest interests of charity.

Is that really the case? What about all the other interests? 

Do the interests of a charity trump the interests of a town?

Doesn’t that count for something too? Isn’t that why this petition is gaining ground? Everyone in Salcombe knows of Woodcot. It’s the bright sparkling jewel at the heart of Salcombe and is being sold off by a charity who don’t seem to care about Sslcombe anymore. 

The truth is Age UK know that the Salcombe community has strong links with Woodcot- but that is for tomorrows update.
