It is morally wrong to sell a house such as Woodcot which is so important in a community like Salcombe - the loss will impact the town in many ways. Salcombe is a famous town, but it is still a community. It has a minibus, a lifeboat, a church, a school. It has council houses, rich houses, poor houses too - it has a rugby club a football club. Its not just Chelsea on Sea.
Yes. It has a large number of people who have a second home who also love Salcombe dearly. It also has thousands of visitors who love the beaches, the sea, the estuary… now is the time to ask them to show their love for the town by standing up for Salcombe in the face of corporate greed.
To AGE UK Woodcot is just a valiable asset. To Salcombe it is an irreplaceable gem. It is so worth fighting for.
It's not just a cruel betrayal of the people still living there who are now facing homelessness - AGE UK still haven't told the residents - all of who are in their 80’s where they will go- and it is a huge betrayal of Miss Jennings generosity.
Salcombe owes Miss Jennings a huge debt of gratitude. Signing this petition is a recognition that these things matter.
Thankyou. Thankyou. Thankyou.
